While most EAs have a strong technical background, the EA’s most important skills are the ability to communicate and negotiate. It’s rare to see EAs doing “hands on” work like creating prototypes or writing code in most organizations.

The most important thing that an Enterprise Architect does is ensure that the IT Strategy aligns to an organization’s business goals.
